Show Beaver Team Wins District M Men Title The Beaver East Ward M Men basketball team won district M Men honors and a berth in the All-Church All-Church tournament by defeating Enterprise and the Cedar Second Ward team in the district tournament, tourna-ment, played in the B.A.C. gymnasium gym-nasium Friday and Saturday. The Beaver team, coached by Mel Hellington, a well balanced and fast breaking squad, took the measure of Ace Terry's Cedar quint In the championship game by a score of 43 to 32. The Cedar team held the lead until the middle of the third period, but with the visitors in the midst of a rally, Nelson Bulloch left the game because of injuries and the Second Warders blewup to let the Beaver team march Into a commanding lead which was added to as the game progressed. Cedar held a 13 to 9 advantage at the end of the first period and were in the lead 25 to 21 at half time, but by Ihe end of the tldrd Beaver was out in front 33 to 29. Cedar defeated Hurricane In the first game of the tournament by a score of 34 to 40, and Beaver trimmed trim-med Enterprise, 27 to 20, to gain the linals and meet each other for the title. In the Cedar-Hurricane game the local team held tthe advantage throughout, with Dan Heaps leading the scoring for a total of 16 points. The score by quarters showed Cedar leading 11-8, 21-16, and 34-22. In the Enterprise - Hurricane game, Hurricane led 15 to 11 at the half and 27 to 19 at the end of the third period, (but could not hold onto the lead, Enterprise winning, 35 to 29.
