Show Art Exhibit And Arts Course To Be Continued At a meeting of the Coordinating Council Monday night, a decision made several weeks ago to cancel the annual Art Exhibit and the Music Arts Course, was reversed, and plans laid for the holding of both of these excellent community programs. Because of the war effort, however, how-ever, both programs will be modified modi-fied to some extent, but the finer features of each will be retained in order that the people of the community com-munity will not lose the cultur.il benefits resulting. In order to reduce the cost of the Ait Exhibit, it was decided that only artists residing in Utah would be asked to exhibit, and the support sup-port of such Institutions as the Bngham Young University, Utah State Agricultural College, the University Uni-versity of Utah and the Salt Lake Art Barn Association, will be sought as a means of Increasing the number num-ber and quality of exhibits. The committee, headed by I. N. Wright, is already formulating plans for the show. It was also felt that some modification modi-fication would be necessary hi the Music Arts Course, but after'a d.s-cussion d.s-cussion of the matter, those attending attend-ing the meeting Monday, approved the continuation of the course, but left all decisions as to reductions or changes hi the program in the hands of the Music Arts committee, commit-tee, headed by Dr. L. V. Broadbent. |
