City Police Officer Preston Wood has been assigned the responsibility of enforcing the two-hour parking limit on 'Main Street, and is doing a good Job, Mr. Nelson slates, but is powerless to do much about those who refuse to cooperate but do not acutually break the law. He points out tliut certain Individuals are watching th3 officer in charge and moving their curs to new parking park-ing places often enough to avoid parking on side streets or In the rear of business buildings, to make room for shoppers and tourists who have occasion to park on main streets. This practice defeats the purpose pur-pose of the ordinance and adds confusion to nn already difficult problem, and It seems redlculous that business men or employees of main street firms should park their cars on the street all day long. |
