Show Teen-Age Canteen Plans Outlined At Committee Meeting Committee members In charge of the proposed Cedar City Teen-Age! Cante.n met Friday night to com-( plcte plans fcr the canteen and tentatively set Wednesday, Junj 27.' as the official opening. The open-' lng Is dependant on th: completion of certain details, particularly dec-; oration cf the hall. The canteen will be located In th? high school gym-' naif.um, with aiun,im?nts made' for a wide variety of activities. The committee decided to open the canteen on three nights week, and sel:cted Monday, Thursday and Friday as the opening nights to avoid conflict with community activities. act-ivities. It was pointed out that' the M. I. A. has schedule a tern-age tern-age dance for each Tuesday evening, even-ing, that Wednesday la held cpen as family night, and that most of, the young pecple would want io at-' tend the Junior Chamber of Commerce Com-merce dances on Saturday nights. With the program now outlined the young people certainly have ful enter tainment opportunities, with something some-thing provided for every night in the week. This Includes the fol lowing: Monday. Canteen activities; Tuesday, Mutal danci; Wednesday, family night or Bhow; Thursday, Canteen; Friday, Canteen; Saturday. Satur-day. Junior Chamber dance; Sunday Church and Shows. Under present plans the canteen will be open from 7:30 to 11:00 pm. on Monday and Thursday nights, and from 8:00 p.m to midnight on Friday. In order to participate In the' activities young people between the age of 14 and 19 years, must first pay a membership fee, which has been set at $1.50 for the summer months, and then abide by all rules and regulations of the canteen. |
