Show Former Cedar City Minister Freed From Philippines Prison Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Richardson of Cedar City that Rev, Alexander Christie, Minister In the local Presyterlan Church, during 1940 and 41, was among the prisoners of the Japanese Japan-ese released from the Los Banos prison camp In Manila by Yank liberators recently. Mr. and Mrs. Richardson received word from Mrs. Christie, who is now residing In New York, Rev. Christie left the Cedar City church to accept a mission assignment assign-ment in the Philippines, leaving for the Island only a short time before be-fore the Japanese attack on Pearl : Harbor. He had been held by the Japanese since the conquest of the ! Philippines, and Mrs. Christie had heard only meager and indirect re-1 , ports front him during that time.
