Show Children Make Tin Can Salvage Record Mrs. Parson U. Webster, Iron County Salvage Chairman, report that the tin can salvage campaign conducted by the school children of the cunty last week proved to be a huge success, with more than eighty thousand cans collected. The tabluated report filed by Mrs. Webster Web-ster is as follows: Cedar Elementary School: 770 pupils participating, 43,132 cans collected, col-lected, for a per capita of 55 li plus. Cedar Junior High School: 391 pupils participating, 19,554 cans collected col-lected for a per capita of 50 plus. Cedar .High School: 300 pupils participating, 11,996 cans collcc'ed, for a per capita of 40. I Total for the three Cedar City schools. 74.682 cans. I The Enoch. Summit and Newcastle Newcas-tle contribution Is Included In the Cedar City total, because the pupils from those towns attend school In Cedar City. I Kanarra School: 4 pupils participating, par-ticipating, 2.7G0 cans collected, for n per capita of 60. ! Paragonah School: 67 pupils participating, par-ticipating, 2,650 cans collected, for a per capita of 39. The Modena school sent in a1 pood collection, but report as to the number of participants or number num-ber of cans was not received. The competition in the Cedar City Elementary school was esep-rlally esep-rlally keen, with every room reaching reach-ing the goal of fifty cans per child. The leaders were as follows: Mrs. Owen Cunningham's Sixth: 3,840 cans. 101.5 per capita. Morris Bunhana's Sixth: 3.423 cans. 855 per capita. Mrs. Gwen Clark's Sixth: 3,301 cans. 98 per capita. j i |
