Show I Cedar City Music Group Honored Cedar City High School Music department de-partment has recently been honored by an invitation to join the National Band and Orchestra Honor Society. ; This society is an organization designed to recognize the works being be-ing done in the finer hluh school bands and orchestras in America by presenting them with a charter of the society and permitting them to maintain local chapters of the organization. No school is extended charters unless a thorough investigation investi-gation and recommendation is made by the Executive Secretary. National officers include: Frank Simon, foimer cornet soloist with jSousa Band whom Mr. Sousa considered con-sidered "America's Foremost Cornct-ist";! Cornct-ist";! Cliff Barinum, Band Director of North-western University Band .and others of National rcputition I Members in the society is lirfntcd land is based on musicianship, char-I char-I acter, leadership and community service. 1 Officers in the newly formed Ce-, dar City School organization are as follows: Kent Riddle, president;' Lyta Esplin, vice president; Donna Garrick, Secretary;! and Mona Taylor, Tay-lor, treasurer. Membership Includes: Doris Esplin, Janice Mcrryweather. Jim Hickman, Jackie Leigh, Made- ' Ion Jones, Margaret Hunter, Bud Riddle, Bruce Riddle, Boyd Rollins, I Edward Southwick, Mary Taylor, Paul Roberts, Mary Ann Lamb, Cai-lcn Cai-lcn Ljston, LaVon Urie, Lloyd Gramcs and Marilyn Gadd. |
