Show MI CH LIMBER CUT ON FOREST DESPITE LABOR DIRTII Reports recently compiled in the Regional Oifiee, U. S. Forest Servile Ser-vile show that the sawmills on and around the nation ul forests of the1 Ii.t.:'ruumntkin Region have been' .usy during the past quarter. In1 spite of labor shortage and cliff i-i culty in getting equipment, theyi have cut a tot-1 or 27.811,000 board feet of lumber valued at over $54,-0C0 $54,-0C0 on the stump. This compares' with 40.845,000 board feet cut in' commercial sales during the same period of last year. The Dixie Forest, recently enlarged en-larged by consolidating " the old Dixie and Powell forests, led tin-State tin-State of Utah with a cut of 3.161.000 coavd feet. The Dixie was closely followed by the Uinta which cut 2.806,000 board feet. |
