Show Music Arts Assn. Begins Annual MembershipDrive The membership drive of the Music Mu-sic Arts Afjociation will commence today, September 12th. It was announced an-nounced by Mr. Lorin Whetten, Whet-ten, chairman of the Music Arts Committee. Mr. Whetten said that at least eight numbers of oustand-Ing oustand-Ing quality would be offered to patrons pat-rons this year. These concerts include in-clude The Guardsmen Mule Quartet Quar-tet which will appear on Monday, October 7th; Howard Pierce Davis, outstanding lecturer on last year's series, on October 31st; Druke and Shaw, nationally famous piano team Wednesday. December 1th; Blals-dell Blals-dell Trio, Wednesday, January 15th; The Dance Theatre, Monday, January Jan-uary 20th; Ethan Colton, imminent lecturer, Wednesday, January 29th; Janet Bush Opera Quartet, head-liner head-liner of the series, Monday, February Febru-ary 17th; and Juanita Carter, brilliant bril-liant young soprano, the time yet to be arranged. In addition to these nationally famous artists the committee will again sponsor a community play, Mr. Whetton said. The Community Play has been an outstanding success suc-cess on each year's series. In the past seasons such plays as "The Man who came to Dinner", "Arsenic and Old Luce," "My Dear Children" "Our Town", and My Sister Eileen-have Eileen-have been produced. Season memberships will be priced pric-ed at $5.00 each this year, It was decided de-cided by the committee. Single admissions ad-missions will be $1.50 which will make the series worth $12.00 at the single admission price. A distinct saving of $7.00 will be gained by the purchase of season memberships. member-ships. Purchase of the season membership mem-bership will also assure the committee com-mittee of the support they need to sponsor this splendid series. The drive for memberships will continue until the first concert of the series. Memberships may be secured se-cured from any committee member. Members of the committee besides Mr. Whetten are Roy L. Halversen, A. B. Larson, Dr. Reed Fornsworth, Mrs. James S. Prestwich, Mrs. Stanley Stan-ley Bradshaw, Mrs. Elwood Corry. Mrs. D. C. Dlx. and Hazen Cooley secretary. |
