Show Plea Made By Cedar City Boys in Military Service Printed below is a letter received by the Record office from 26 young men who left Cedar City in March with the local National Guard unit for training at Camp San Luis Obispo, and who, since that time, have been transferred from Battery Bat-tery F, 222nd Field Artillery, to Headquarters, 2nd. Battalion, 145th Field Artillery. Needless to say, we of the Record Re-cord were pleased to hear from these boys and are glad to learn they enjoy en-joy reading the paper we send to their camp each week. We assure them, as well as all other young men now In military training camps, that we are pleased to hear from them and if, at any time, we can help them to keep in touch with the folks back home, we are only too glad to do so. We are taking the liberty of passing this letter on to our readers and sincerely hope that the plea sent by these boys will be answered and that our citizens will remember remem-ber that even though these young men belong to another battery, they are still our boys and are willingly will-ingly doing their bit in national defense. HQ 2nd. Bn 145 FA Camp San Luis Obispo August 3, 1941 Iron County Record, Cedar City, Utah. Dear Sirs: We, the 26 men who were transferred trans-ferred from the Cedar City local battery into HQ 2nd Bn 145 F. A., take great pleasure in thanking you for your consideration. We enjoy very much reading the news from home. We appreciate it, too, thit the Record remembers that there are more local boys in Camp San' Luis Obispo than what remains with Battery F at the present. It seems that on Utah Day some of the Cedar City crowd were visitors visit-ors in camp. We were all hoping that someone would drop in at HQ 2nd Bn 145 FA, but the guests never arrived in our area. We hope that in the future some of us will have the pleasure of meeting someone from Cedar City. Respectfully yours The Cedar City Boys of . HQ 2nd Bn 145 FA . $ |
