Mayor Leigh wishes it understood under-stood that any one who has a desire for any office should make application therefor. It is his belief that there may be several good men who would appreciate, an appointment but who are timid in . making application, fearing that they would stand no chance. He wants it expressly understood that he is looking for men specially fitted for appointment, ap-pointment, and every application received by him will be given every consideration and the applicant's ap-plicant's fitness for the office sought will be investigated without with-out any partiality. It might be said further that he feeli that no one should expect an appointment appoint-ment without showing that he desires it, for he thinks it would' be a mistake in a majority of instances to appoint those who have not expressed a desire for the honor. Those who feel that they are fitted for a particular partic-ular office in the official household house-hold of the city should get active, ac-tive, for there are plenty of chances yet. |
