Defeat East Ward Nimrods in Bis Rabbit Rab-bit Hunt Yesterday by One Hundred and Ninety-three Scalps ABBITSWERE NOT VERY PLENTIFUL Vanquished Hunters to Give a Dance and Supper to Victors and Others Tuesday In a hard fought battle through snow, mud and slush covering many miles across Cedar bottoms, the rabbit' hunters hunt-ers of the' West Ward secured a victory over the East Ward nimrods nim-rods yesterday. The hunt commenced com-menced at 10 a. m. and closed at 3 p, m, with half an hour for lunch. The long walk was a strenuous one and all the participants par-ticipants were tired when time was called. The count revealed 739 scalps for the West Ward as against 546 for the East, or a majority of 193 scalps for the West Ward shooters. Of course the East Warders say 'that their successful success-ful opponents had the rabbits on their side, but excuses are vain, and the fact remains that the West side won the hunt. Aa a result ihe East Ward hunters give a dance and oyster day eyenin'u:, andu' general ;in vitation is extended to the public pub-lic of Cedar. City to attend. A charge of 50c per plate will be made for all except the successful success-ful side and its partners, who are the guests of honor. A rousing rous-ing good time is anticipated. A notable feature of the hunt was the scarcity of rabbits, which is proven by the comparatively compar-atively small count ox, both sides. The highest score accredited accred-ited to any1 hunter on either side was to Willard E. Corry of the West side, who . counted in 64 J scalps. This victory on the part of the West side results in a tie again, between the two sides, the East side having beaten twice and the West side once before. There is now talk of having the deciding hunt on February 12th, to decide the tie on games to date. |
