Mr. Simkins of Summit, has registered at the local, hospital for an operation, which will be performed tomorrow on, the arrival ar-rival of his family, A. D. EcGuire has taken temporary tem-porary law office in the Mercantile Mercan-tile block with Dr. R. Leigh, where he will be pleased to meet all his clients and friends. Mr. Joseph Rasmussen of Parowan, Par-owan, who has be5n visiting at the home of Bishop A. G. Mathe-son Mathe-son for a few days roturned home the fore part of this week. During the past week the heavy steel girders for the Thor-ley Thor-ley theatre have been received and placed in position. Work on the roof now will go forward as rapildy as possible. Miss Hilda Hulet, daughter of Chas. Hulet of Newcastle, was operated on at the local hospital this morning by Dr. Leonard for appendicitis, the operation apparently ap-parently being entirely successful. success-ful. President Woodrow Wilson has issued his Thanksgiving proclamation, procla-mation, naming Thursday, November. 27, as the annual day upon which the populace should render up thanks for their many blessings. Of course the American people all feel thankful, but how about the "Turks." Ozro Webb came down, from Parowan Monday evening and will attend the B, A. C, taking a course in agriculture. - To-pre-pare himself, focgood earnest work during ' the coining term, Ozro took a trip to Salt Lake and Denver where he 'saw all' the sights and-had a butterfly tinie for a week 'or two. In reporting the operations performed by Drs. Middleton and Leonard last week at the local hospital, we neglected to learn of the operation on the four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Orin Wood of Grafton, for hernia. The results were eminently emi-nently aatisfactoy, and the little patient is on the rapid road to recovery. Thos. M. As the guests were leaving it was announced an-nounced that the hostesses would make a date with each of the gonlemen present for the following fol-lowing evening. There is a possibility of the sickness being scarletina, and until it is fully decided Mr. Jones will remain an exile from home. Dr. -D. A. McGregor of St. George was in Cedar City last Tuesday, being called in consultation consult-ation at the suggestion of Dr. Leonard on the case of. Millard Watson, Dr. Mcgregor's brother-in-law, who has pneumonia. The patient is doing as well as could possibly be expected. Passenger business on the Cedar-Lund route has been good since the recent storm, with roads somewhat improved, though no dragging or rolling has been done on the grade since the storm. There were eleven passdngers on the auto's going out Wednesday aftrenoon, and nine coming in yesterday. Dr. Leonard received an imperative im-perative summons to Enoch last evening about nine o'clock, to attend William J. Matheson, who had a bad spell with his heart. The doctor found the patient some betteraand an examination showed that he was not suffering from anv valvular trouble, but the muscles were weak, and the patient in need of treatment. The physician is hopeful of a rapid recovery if his directions are followed carefully A complaint signed by Alfred Froyd, Sheriff, charging Dr. Rogers with 'tfie commission of a statutory crime, was filed in Justice Dutton's court the first of the week, and the dentist was placed undef arrest by the sheriff and city marshall.
