Show CONSERVATION RULES CHANGED It is announced by the War Industries Indus-tries Board that the future conservation conserva-tion schedule which was to go into ClFocI January 1, 191!, has been rescinded re-scinded because theie is no longer any imperative necessity for the can-servation can-servation of material, labor and transportation for war purpose. In connection with the manufacture of shoes, Chairman B. M. Haruch, of the War Industries Board, has notified shoe manufacturers that with certain exceptions the shoe conservo tion schedules for the Spring season of l!tli will remain in force nnd be effective on all shoes shipped to retailers re-tailers until June 1, 1!U!, when such schedules will automatically become in-operative. It is stated that these conservation schedules were agreed upon by shoe manufacturers as a war measure designed to conserve material, mate-rial, labor, etc., and that it is at their request that such restrictions ar" continued by the Wiar Industries Board until June 1. This attitude on the part of shoe manufacturers is understood to he due largely to the fact that the process of manufacture of shoes for the Spring trade has already al-ready proceeded so far that it would be difficult to change their plans at this late date. The United States Fuel Administration Administra-tion plans gradually to eliminate restrictive re-strictive orders and to carry on only necessary voluntary conservation of coal through educational means. In pursuance of this policy, orders have been issued doing away almost entirely entire-ly with the "lightless night" restrictions. |
