Show SUGGESTS MEMORIAL FOR OUR SOLDIERS "lliftne Town Friend" Suggests Des. ignating Street and Planting Trees for Men in Service Logan, Utah, Dec. 6, 1918. Editor Record, Cedar City, Utah. Dear Sir. Enclosed please find a dollar bill for which send me The Record for six months to 05 E. ft N., Logan, Utah. As the nation is now earnestly seek-,'OfcL seek-,'OfcL luctliod.-, ul' Uunoiuji nui icturn inc -oldiers, 1 think y n will ardofl me for making the following suggestion sugges-tion along that line, which you may follow uji and bring before the people of Cedar City: A street could be looted and christened "Soldier's Street," along which a tree could be planted ftr each soldier. L'ach tree could be labeled with the soldier's name it represented. This would be an ending tribute to our soldiers and also may be the means of starting a policy of tree planting on the city streets that would some day make the town noted for it systematic system of shade trees. There is plenty time between now and arbor day to arrange all details. By that time most of our boys will be home and an epoch making celebration celebra-tion could be held. 1 offer this merely ns a suggestion from one who is deeply interested in the welfare of his home town. A Home Town Friend. |
