Show IMPORTANT TO BtlBBCRIBtU I rTi WE cash basis is the modern, the efficient way, of doing business. Stores and practically all other lines of business have been compelled to come to it, and after a number of years of very unsatisfactory experience in the granting of credit, cred-it, particularly on subscription .accounts. The Record Rec-ord has resolved to fall in line with the movement, and in future discontinue all subscriptions which are not renewed upon expiration. If it is known that this rule is being generally and universally applied, no subscriber can take just offense at his paptt being discontinued when the time for which it has been paid has elapsed. A the present time there is approximately $1,000 due us from subscribers, notice of which has been mailed, and if, within a reasonable time, these accounts are not renewed the papers will be discontinued. It is needless to say that we shall be most happy to receive the renewals of all who : feel that the paper is worth the subscription price, and are interested in the news, development and progress of this part of the country. We shall regret to part company with any of our splendid army of readers, but the rule will be universally applied B&d we fully expect to lose a number of names from our lists, at least temporarily. It is a splendid plan for subscribers to occasionally occa-sionally refer to the date printed opposite their names on the margin of their papers or on the wrappers, and before the date of expiration arrives ar-rives arrange to have it extended, thu avoiding the possibility of annoyance by the missing of any issues. We are getting out an expensive naper and cannot afford the very considerable losses that we have in the past sustained by reason of subscribers subscrib-ers refusing to pay for papers they have received and read as long as we would continue to send them on credit. Our many loyal, prompt-paying readers will ! realize that this new method of handling our subscription sub-scription accounts is no injustice in fact will scarcely affect them and that no offense is intended in-tended to any one. We will respectfully ask that our subscribers give consideration to this announcement, and let us hear from those whose subscriptions have expired ex-pired promptly, particularly if they wish thmr p i-'pers i-'pers to continue coming. |
