Last Tuesday u com- H pany of men and boys headed by ffflffl Mayor Leigh and his delivery fiH wagon were engaged in trans B porting the books and furniture B from the temporary quarters on B the upper floor of the Mercantile B Block to the splendid new Carn- B cgie building on the East side B of Main Street. H Librarian, Mrs. E. C. Watson, B was almost lost in the large, B ,' commodious room, and the pres- B ent supply of books and furni- B ture seem entirely inadequate to B the apartment. However, this Bfl condition will be remedied just as B fast as possible. Tho now bteam B heating plant is in. commission B and doing good work, so that B the building is very comfortable. B The library building is an H ornament to Main street, and a credit to any town. Cedar peo- B pie should appreciate this gencr- B ous gift on the part of Mr. Carn- B cgie, and show it by making use B of the opportunity thus affodred B v of acquiring a knowledge of the H world's litctatare, thought and b progress. B The new Library is now open B i to tne public regularly each afternoon and evening. |
