There ia considerable sickness in Cedar City just at present, consisting principally of coldfl and lajgrippo. W. D. Owen, tho universally known gonial salesman for Z. C. M. I.'s dry goods department, was in Cedar Thursday. Nearly all the school children havo got sore eyes, The disease started about two weeks ago! and nearly everyone here has a-cold. a-cold. Mrs. Joseph W. Prince is still in the hospital at Cedar recovering recover-ing slowly, from her operation, ond expects to return to her hone in about a week. Owing to a mora protracted term of court than usual in Washington county, the Iron county term was postponed from January 28th to February 9th or 10th. Lost Friday night tho Sunday School gave a dance and sold lunch for the purpose of getting funds to purchase some new books. There was a large crowd out and everybody sedmed to enjoy themselves. Dr. R. A. Thorley has started on a ten days trip through the northern part of Arizona, into what is known as tho Arizona strip, and during his absence his dental office will remain closed. Business is apparently good in his line, as tho Doctor was heard to remark that he had to postpone 21 patients in order to go. The high wind Sunday m'ght kept nervouspeoplo awake while it lasted, and the manager of the telephone company busy the next day unbrafding wires and correcting other troubles. Mrs. Charlotte Walker returned re-turned Thursday from a three months visit with her daughter, Mrs. Gregory, part of the time in Las Vegas and the remainder on a trip to California. A complication of diseases, dis-eases, which have practically made the unfortunate patient an invalid for a number of years, are gradually closing about him. We have had some rather stormy weather the laBt week or two. The rain started on the morning of the 15th at 6 p. m. and we had 2.05 inches ot rain. It continued until 5 p. m. on tho 16th when wo had 0.99 inches of rain. The rain ceased until the 18th when it started at about 1 a. m. At G p. m. we hod 1.20 inches. On tho 19th at 6 p. m. wc had 1.65 inches. It stopped raining until tho 24th when 0.55 inches foil. It rained all the next day and at 6 p. m. we had 1.42 inches, 11 a. m. 0.30 inches more had fallen making a tal of 7.16 inches of rain fall during thi storm, and on top of the rain it snowed for 24 hours.
