Sherman Makes an Offer j Which Would Mean Much H, to Breeders Hj For the purpose of encourag- Hf ing the raising of a better class H of saddle and light purpose H' horses, I hereby make the fol- H lowing offer to rhe horse breed H ers of Southern Utah. I will H guarantee $250 to be added to H the entrance moneys paid in on H the following futurity race to H be known as the Souhtern Utah B Derby, to be run by horses born H and raised in any of the follow- Hl ing counties: Beaver, Iron, H', Washington, Sevier, Wayne, H Piute, Garfield, Kane, Millard, H Sanpete and San Juan, must K have been born in the year 1012. H First entrance money of $5 to , be paid on or before January Hj 1st, 3 914, second entrance H: money of $5 to be paid on or H before January 1st, 1915, and a H payment of ten dollars to be H paid at the time of the race, in H September or October 1915. The H place to be selected not later H than August 1st, 1915 and will H be run at the place offering the H best track, inducements, etc. H All entrance to be made and B money paid to the State Bank H of Garfield, who will receipt for H and hold until the race is run B and then pay out to the owners i of the winning horses, together U, with their usual rate of interest H' as follows: H To the owner of the dam of j the winner at foaling time 5 per H cent of total. To the owner of Hj the winning horse 50 per cent H of total. To the owner of the B . second horse 30 per cunt of the H' total. To owner of the third H horse 15 per cent of total. B I hereby guarantee $250 to H be added to the entrance money H paid in at the time of the' race, H to be divided up the same aa the B above. Any person failing to Hi pay their entrance money when H; due must forfeit what they have 1 already paid in and it stays to fl help swell the final purse. The V distance to be not less than one H half mile nor more than three H 'fourths of a mile, to be decided H by a majority vote of those H parties who have kept up their H dues on August 1st, 1915. Said H' vote to be mailed to the State K Bank of Garfield not later than j August 1st, 1915. Weight to be V carried. Fllys to carry not less H than 110 pounds. Geldings not Hj less than 112i pounds and Stal- H lions not less than 115 pounds, j Parties making entrys must B give sire and dam and date of. H foaling, name color and all' B markings in fact complete dis-' H criplion oi" his entry. Any one H man call enter and run as many ' N, horses as he wishes. Incase at; Bj the time of the race there is a j question raised in regard to age, H place of birth, or anything ir-' B' regular in any of the entrys the B owner must furnish absolute K a proof of his eligibility to run in! H1 the race. H If for any reason this race B . should be declared off, all fl moneys paid in will be returned B to the parties paying the same.
