Show THIS "hush town" situation that we are enduring again this winter on account of the "flu" is most discouraging dis-couraging and demoralizing to business of all kind. Store keepers do not feel like advertising, because there is no trade hardly aside from a little grocery and drig business. If a sale of any kind is advertised there is no assurance that it will be permitted to go on. One merchant remarked that if a traveling salesman sales-man of any kind should come into the store of which ' he is manager, he would show him the door. That he don't like to look at or think of merchandise, when it only piles up on the shelves. It certainly gives us all the blues and we trust that the situation will soon clear up again so that we can get back to normal. (tm) |
