A hnlf century after the origination of a memorial, or decoration day, on which tribute Is paid to tlioso who have died in tho nation's wars, tho graves of 218 Americans who fought in the War of 1812 were decorated for the first time last Memorial day. At Princeton, England, there nre tho graves of 218 Americans who died while held prisoners of war in Dartmoor Dart-moor prison. Tho parish church in the little village of Princeton was built by tho labor of these and a number of French prisoners. For many years tho sod which covered cov-ered the remains of these sons of America was unmarked. Finally ono of tho governors of tho prison had a cairn and a monument erected to mark tho resting placo of England's worthy enemies. Their graves, however, had never been decorated in the manner in which the graves of other American heroes aro decoruted until the London post of tho American Legion placed a largo wreath over their resting placo on last Memorial day.
