Show ENTHUSIASM RUNNING HIGH LEGION RACE MEET PLANS AND DETAILS ARE MATERIALIZED, AND ALL IS IN READINESS FOR BIG EVENT. Enthusiasm is running high over tho Legion Race Meet, and not without with-out cause. Tho time is ripe for just such an affair. And If a well planned plan-ned Race Meet handled by men who are able to put It across is assured of success, then truly the Meet held in Cedar City this Fall should be one in every sense of the word. The fact that the men of the Legion Le-gion are handling it need not imply that they are tho only ones who will get all the benefit of it. True enough, it will help them in a large measure if it is a success. But in helping them it helps the community; communi-ty; not only Cedar City, but tho larger state and social institutions also. The- Legion is an organization whoso influence is spreading by leaps and bounds; That -this influence influ-ence is a factor of national strength is a foregone conclusion. The manner in which tho immediate immedi-ate " benefits to the community will be felt is still held under the hats of tho Legion boys, but you are assured as-sured that it will take form m tho satisfaction of a long felt need in tho community. At present all plans worked out fordqtails of the Meet are materializing material-izing splendidly. That most essential essen-tial thing for a Race Meet, a fast track, will be provided in this Meet. A group of Legion members has been working on the track at the Fair Grounds for the 'past month with tho result that the track is tho best that it has ever been and one of the fastest in Southern Utah. ' There being so many large affairs af-fairs of this nature in Southern Utah this Fall, and the fact that tho dates of each have been so close together to-gether has inconvenienced some of the big rnco horse men but definite ; assurance is had that nearly all of , them will have their horses to the Meet in Cedar City. This knowledge know-ledge is very gratifying, consider-' ing tlhe inconvenience, thty Incurr, getting here. i J The Rodeo part of the program Is 'sure to go big. This is one of tho most difficult things to make a suc-i jces. But there is no doubt that it iwill be in this Meet. The best rid-lers rid-lers of Southern Utah and Nevada will bo hero to try their skill and daring. To have assurance that there will bo plenty of wild horses a bunch of Legion men have gone1 out on tho desert to getia band of tho wildest and meanest the desert, i holds. As an added feature and to help' make tho Meet a success, as well as to supply a new sort of thrill, there will be a balloon ascension and a parachute drop form it. The men who do this give assurance that! their part of the program will fur- nish plenty of thrill and excitement. Theso men will also give an excep-j tional tight wire performance, in addition to the ballon ascension. I On tho first two nights ot the Meet the Legion Players will present pre-sent a first class comedy. The play "Billeted," is not necessarily a war play tho its namo might imply that.' It deals with a very funny situation of two army officers who happen to be billeted in tho house of a widow land her girl friend. It will furnish1 I plenty of laughter. An able cast un-'der un-'der Mr. II. Claude Lewis whoso abi-1 jllty as a roach for similar perform-; ers is unquestioned has the play i nearly ready for production. I To wind up each day's entertainment entertain-ment there will be dancing. Music, ' for this will be furnish by a well I known local dance orchestra.
