Show IE LETS BOOST UTAH II NOT 'ONEf PLACE. HI oo Tho News man, after traveling Hf over a great deal of the southern Hf part of the Btate this year, lias found that the greatest trouble with Hf the entire state of Utah is, that Utah II is not boosting for Utah. It seems B to us that it is more of a case of H "Dog Eat Dog". In every district Hi you will find people that will tell H you all about their own country, but B do not stop at that, they tell you all H the bad things about the other H places, and nine times out of ten, H they will put the largest magnifying H glass possible on the deal. In one1 H place we ask about the country sar- H pounding Panguitch, and were told I nl?1 there was nothing to see---tliatj H jSryco Canyon was nothing, conipar- H Vd witli some of the other places, and I that "one could pick it up and hold I it in his hands." Now what do you m know of a feeling of that kind? Dear neighbor, if the tourists arc in I I your locality, you arc pretty sure I they are going to see all that you1 I have, so why not encourage them to ' I take in tho sights in other part3 of your districts? It all belongs to you as well as us. Its Utah, folkd, and wo should cut out this petty jcal- ousy and get together. Don't try I , and drive the tourists out of the I state of Utah. We have more to I show than all the west put together. Heavens man, if California owned I Bryco Canyon, Cedar Breaks, Zion I and Grand Canyon, or even Casto I Canyon, they would imagine they had the world by the ta'l with a down-hill pull on it, and believe us I they would use the "pull'' they had. I We were even told, (not knowing I who we were) that Bryco Canyon could be seen in its entirety in a I very few minutes. And we will de-I de-I fy any man with any intellect, or ap-I ap-I preciation of beauty, to see Bryco I Canyon iin several days, or any of the other beautiful natural scenic wonders of southern Utah. There is something in everyone of them that will demand study. Utah also has I some of the most beautiful camping places in the west, places where a I person can find almost any kind of I shade, fishing, bath'ng, hunting and other outdoor sports, and the entire state can be made the greatest place I for a summers outing in the wide I world, barring none. I A road is being completed to Blue I Springs, above Panguitch Lake. and I if someone in the west will sight usi I to a more beautiful place for a weeks i outing, right at the front yard of I one of the best fishing resorts in the' I west, we will eat our old red flannel. I undershirt, buttons and all, and then' ' for some narrow minded person to I tell u,5 that this section has nothing I to entice the tourist, we feel like' I buying them a free ti!cket to some home for the feeble minded. 8 When tho road from Hurricane to Fredonia is completed and the rough- ( I ness taken out of it, we will have the Garden Spot of the world. The I people can go, say from Salt Lake, I to Cedar, Parowan, -Cedar Break, H Littlo Zion, visit St. George, etc., J take in the Grand Canyon, and then! through tho beautiful canyons up to H nature's beauty spot, Bryce Canyon, j I and Panguitch, the Sevier Canyon, I - nnd Pangu!tch or Fish Lake, on up H through Richfield nnd the San Pete; H country, or visa versa, and we con-, fl sider they will be well repaid for H their trip. Let's get the loop con- I nected up nnd then nil boost for I "UTAH" and when we get them in H our' neighborhood, see thnt they are I told about the other places. Bc- H cause, if they do happen to go and see the other place and find out that H you are displaying some petty jeal- , ousy, it wpll make them think a great H deal less of your own locality and H you personally. , H no |
