Show H SELENIUM A RARE ELEMENT. H Used for Reproducing: Photo- m graphs by Telegraph. c j Selcium is a rare and little ' known clement described by the m ' United Stales Geological Survey 1 as having its greatest use in the i B- manufacture of certain glasses to m which it gives a red color and in M coloring enameled ware red. Jt H is used to overcome the natural H green color of ordinary glass H i and also in making glass of a B distinct red color such as that B used on railroads for signal H - lights. It has been H , used in experiments in tclophon- H ing along a ray of light, apd for B) transmitting sounds and photo- H graphs from one place to another Hj by means of a telephone or tcle- j graph wire.
