Show H "It cannot be that earth is mans only abiding place. It can- B not ho that our life is a bubble B cast up by the ocean of eternity H to tloat a moment upon its waves H and sink into nothingness. Else, 1 why is it tho high and glorious 1 aspirations which leap like angels H from the temple of our hearts m are forever wandering unsatis- H fied? Why is it tlmt the rainbow m and cloud come over us with a H beauty that pass off and leave us H to muse of their loveliness? BBJ Why is it that tho stars which hold their festival around the midnight throne are set above the grasp of our limited faculties, fac-ulties, forever mocking us with their unapproachable glory? And finally, why is it that the bright forms of human beauty are presented to our view and taken from us, leaving the thousand streams of our affections affec-tions to flow back in an Alphine torrent upon our hearts? 'We are born for higher destiny than that of earth. .There is a realm, where the rainbow never fades, , where the stars will be spread out before us like the islands' that slumber on tho ocean and where the beautiful beings which pass before us like shadows will stay forover in our presence." ( In these beautiful thoughts we can all And much to be thankful for, even if a vacant chair is in our home and the dark -side of life seems turned towards us. I They will place a silver lining, back of any cloud. As a matter of fact we all have much to be thankful for. , |
