The stnteinent was witnessed by city Attorney W. S. Heeu. In It she said her name Is Lydlu Eva Southard, which conflicts with the name given (n the Los Angeles marrlngo record, which was "Edith Eva." The statement state-ment continued, In part, as given out by Attorney Heen : "I have not made any effort to employ em-ploy an Attorney, and certainly do not wish to employ nny nttorney here. I do not wish to tnko advantage of the provision of the law under which I cannot be detained here for Investigation Investiga-tion nioru than forty eight hours without with-out having a criminal charge placeu against me. I am wiling to stay In tho city nnd comity Jail until ready to go to the mainland in charge of any official sent for me.
