Show RIGHT LIVING IS OBJECT I PUBLIC HEALTH CRUSADE First Tournament og 15 Weeks Brings Satisfactory Results Sanitary Habits Induced. In 'many districts of the state the Modern Health Crusade first tourn-1 tourn-1 nment of fifteen weeks" duration has been completed. In most of the othres it is on its lust five weeks and within n short time all the districts will bo stnrting on their second leg of tho tournament The first fifteen weeks I avc been very successful. I hnvo had many reports from school districts of children who never were clean ns to hands, face or neck nnd who now are models of cleanliness. Thousands of children now sleep in bedrooms with windows open, who nover before know the benefits of fresh air. These are minor benefits coming from the crusade, cru-sade, started and sponsored by the Utah Public Health Association and taken over by the Btato department of education last fall. Tho big results, unseen as yet, but already felt by tho teachers and parents the upbuilding of permanent habits of elennhness and health, which make for an innate in-nate consciousness and right living. All our health work comes right back to those two words, "Right Living." If, through tho formation of health habits wo can make the loys and girls sec the value of right living we have' done our work well. We are not planning to award pins and buttons for the second leg of the Modern Health Crusade. Instead we shall give ribbons to be worn with the badges won before, some 'sort of progression pro-gression of colors which has not yet been completely worked out. The Utah Public Health Association Associa-tion has reeived samples of senior health chores for students in grammar gram-mar and high schools. We will Bup-ply Bup-ply them to teachers, superintendents or any interested adults. Address 120 East First South, Salt Lake City. In those sixteen days nil food and water that these men had was brought in by a Salvation Army officer. Our president has said that anything that tends to make better citizens is desirable. The Salvation Army seeks to better the condition of a class that no one else reaches. They plan to remedy all social evils. I want to help. That is why I am giv- ing my time in payment of the debt of gratitude that I owe." |
