Show MOTION PICTURE FILMS ARE VALUABLE RECORD Nearly 1 90 Miles of America's Participation Par-ticipation in War Filed in Vaults War Department Washington. D. C Nearly 190 miles of film, picturing the life nnd richievements of American soldiers in France, England, Belgium, Italy, Russia, Germany nnd America during dur-ing the World War nre included in tho collection of historical documents docu-ments and data in the fireproof vaults of the Signal Corps in Washington. The stories of valor and sacrifice told by these films are a great stimulus to patriotism. Already good use has been made of them by schools, colleges colleg-es soldier's associations, historical societies so-cieties and organizations engaged in "Americanizing" of foreigners. At frequent intervals they are inspected with tho object of discovering dis-covering and arresting and change or deterioration. Tho duplicate negatives neg-atives are used for printing whenever when-ever a now film is desired. In addition to these "movies" of the army in actual war, there are about 3,000,000 feet of film, .comprising .compris-ing sixty-two separate sujects, for use in training recruits, and in illustrating illus-trating in the officers' clnss rooms special details of tactics, tho emlpoy-ment emlpoy-ment of new apparatus and the like. |
