Show Death of Sir Gerald Dease. The death took place at the Abbey, Celridge. on Sunday, of Sir Gerald Dease, and the news was received with a general expression of regret in the district in which he was so well known. Though he had been ill for the past fortnight, his death was nbt expected. However, despite all the resources of medical skill, he passed quietly away about noon on Sunday. The first public pub-lic announcement of his passing away was made to the people of Celridge on Sunday just before last mass by Father Fa-ther Russell, who with visible emotion conveyed the sad intelligence that he had left the dying bedside of Sir Gerald Ger-ald Dease, who only a fortnight before be-fore had been the leading figure in their congregation. . .By his death Catholicity is the poorer by the loss of one of its most earnest and practical professors, and the 'poor of Selbridge have to mourn one, who generously yet unostentatiously always minister to their wants. The late Sir Gerald Dease was born in. 1S31 and was educated in Stonyhurst Stony-hurst college. He was chamberlain to the lord lieutenant, and was a director of the G. S. & W. Railway company. |
