Show TRINIDAD, COLO. i Tuesday a freight train on the Colorado Colo-rado & Southern, southbound, and run- ! mug at a high rate of speed, crashed Into two empty box cars which were left standing on the main track ct Forbes Junction, a coal camp twelve miles north of here. The engine was badly damaged and fourteen freight cars went in the ! e.itt h. About 10 leet of the track was torn up. The freight cars were all emp-I emp-I ty ami most of them were reduced to I kindling wood. The train was in charge j t Conductoor Coyou. with Engineer S-piires at the throttle. Both engineer and tireman saw their danger in time to jump and save their lives, although they were badly bruised and shaken up. The train from the north tonight came in over the Rio Grande from Cuchacras Junction. A wrecking crew is at work, but the track will not be open for traffic before V.'edneir-day. |
