Show Baby O'Leary Christening. The christening of Louisiana O'Leary, the first baby born on the world's fair grounds, was duly celebrated in the administration building at St. Louis, on Sept. 6, by Rev. Father Casey of St. James' parish, assisted by Rev. Fathers Long and C. F. O'Leary. The baptismal baptis-mal font was decorated by two Dominican Domini-can sisters. Director of Works Isaac S. Taylor and Miss Florence Hayward acted as sponsors. Miss Hayward presented the baptismal wardrobe and Father Casey a silver mug bearing the inscription: "World's Fair Site Noth- "S gwu ta ever aLincveu milium enthusiasm Emerson. Louisiana O'Leary, chistened Sept. 6, 1902. Presented Pre-sented by the officiating priest. Rev. E. A. Casey." Louisiana's parents, Lawrence Law-rence and Mary O'Leary, were heartily congratulated by the mapy people present. pres-ent. xThe christening in the administration adminis-tration building was followed by a feast in the dining hall of the grading camp of the Southern Paving & Construction Con-struction company, on the grounds near by. |
