Show CATHEDRAL NOTES. Mrs. Morrison and Mrs. O'Rourke are the ladies appointed to attend to the j altars this week. I The quarter's pew rent is now due I and can be paid to John Carroll, the I j sacristan of the cathedral. I i Services will be 'held at the Utah ' Jtate penitentiary on Sunday. f The members of the Children of ; Mary sodality received Holy Com- f ' munion in a body last Sunday. The i regular meeting was held at St. Mary's i J j academy in the afternoon. f The Knights of Columbus held their usual bi-monthly meeting on Wednes- I day night. O ' !' ' sister Lucretia, superior of St. Mary's academy, has gone to Chicago on a thort trip, accompanied by Msterj i Lidwina, superior c2 the Holy Cross; ; hospital. I Alf those who had tickets for the I choir entertainment given Dec. 1 are Ji requested to return either the tickets or the money at once. It is over a month since the concert and those in charge have not yet been able to settle set-tle the business side of the affair, owing ow-ing to the returns not being made. The members of the Junior choir will positively have rehearsal on Saturday afternoon. The. little ones practice at 3, the advanced girls at 4 and the boys at 5. Owing to the illness of the organist, or-ganist, there was no rehearsal last Saturday. Those in charge of the choir regretted that the children were neglected and this week vehearsal will begin In earnest. The members of the 11 o'clock choir are rehearsing Millard's Mass in G. P- More male voices are needed for the 11 o'clock choir, and one more alto voice. Ladies and gentlemen of the congregation or their friends, who are willing to volunteer their services, will receive a cordial reception from the choir members. ' Mrs. Henry Welsh of Park City seiitj a large consignment of candy to thej children of Kearns' St. Ann's orphan-1 age during the week. Needless to say' the gift was appreciated and the gen-i jerous donor blessed by the little ones. ' The portrait of Rt. Rev. Bishop Scan-1 lan, that has been painted by Georgelj Taggart. and presented to the right; reverend bishop by the local council; of the Knights of Columbus, may bej viewed at the Episcopal residence to-; night (Friday) after 7 o'clock. All, the Catholics of the city and their; friends are invited to attend. ' |
