John F. Connor, the Stockton husiness man and mining operator, carne in from camp, last week. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Hawley have just returned from a wedding trip and are at 321 "West Second South street. $ Dr. "and Mrs. Pinkerton returned last week from California. They were accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Pinkerton's Tiother, Mrs. Kissick, who is with them at the Fifth East hotel. Miss Florence Stevenson underwent a critical operation at St. Mark's hospital hos-pital Saturday morning. The operation opera-tion was performed by Dr. A. C. Beh'e, and while Miss Stevenson's condition is quite serious, the doctor feels very-hopeful very-hopeful of her ultimate recovery. Yesterday Yes-terday she was improved in condition and a continued improvement ia looked for. -v W. S. McCarthy, contracting agent for the Oregon Short Line, accompanied accompa-nied by Mrs. McCarthy, left for Ma-, quoketa, la., Monday evening on a vacation va-cation trip. Austin Gavin, the traveling freight agent at Denver, who was so badly hurt in the wreck near Grand Junction Junc-tion a couple of months ago, has returned re-turned to work at Glenwood. , 6 - F. Vanvoorhis of Walker's bank, has left the Holy Cross hospital entirely entire-ly recovered from the effects of a recent re-cent operation for appendicitis. Miss Katherine Judge entertained at a very delightful dinner last Saturday evening, at which rovers were laid for eight. The table decorations were most unique, the colors being pale pink and green. Three baskets of pala pink carnations were suspended from above the table, and candles shaded In the same color lighted the board. Place cards in the same color were used. The guests of the evening were Mr. and Mrs. E. S. Ferry, Mrs. Louise .Smedley Smith, Miss Burke, Mr. Benner X. Smith, Mr. J. Wolcott Thompson and Mr. Clarence McCornick. William Donavon, one of Park City's most popular young men, spent a few-days few-days in the city during the past week. Mrs. M. J. Dalyof Park City was in Salt Lake during the week. ? The parlors were very handsomely decorated with palms, cut flowers and mistletoe. The evening even-ing was spent in music, games and dancing, dan-cing, those present declaring It to be one of the most pleasurable events of the season.
