Fathers DeSiere, Van Aken, Callahan and the other clergymen who have been attending the installation services of Bishop Carroll at Dubuque, la., returned last Saturday. Bishop Carroll will arrive in Montana the last week in January and his installation as bishop of the diocese will take place in the cathedral at Helena on the 27th. The following week his lordship will officially; visit Butte and will be tendered ten-dered a 'public reception by the Catholics Cath-olics of the city. A meeting for the purpose of arranging for the same will be called by the clergy in the course of a short time. During his lordship's stay in this city he will be tendered a banquet by the Knights of Columbus, of which organization organi-zation he is a member. George- and Frank Mullins, sons of the mayor, who have been attending Gonzaga cpllege at Spokane, are at heme for the holidays. Donald Gillis, formerly superintendent superintend-ent of the Pittsburg & Montana smelters, smelt-ers, is visiting relatives in Butte during dur-ing the holidays. -" '" Bert Lynch of Dillon is visiting friends in the city. Mr. aod Mrs. Glenn Harrington have returned from their wedding journey and are at home with Mr. and Mrs. Fayette Harrington, Xorth Washington. Washing-ton. - Mrs. Ridenbaugh, who was the guest of her sister, Mrs. Thomas Lavelle, last week, has returned to her home in Boise, Ida. f Mrs. O'Brien, mother of H. T. O'Brien of this city, who has been visiting her son here for some time, returned last week to her home at Brandon, Man. Mrs. Mike Harrington, aged 22, died last Saturday at the family residence, 73 East Woolman street. She is survived sur-vived by her husband, one child and a sister, who resides in Butte, and her father and mother, who reside : in Ire land. Mrs. Harrington was born in County Cork, Ireland. ' The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon after-noon at 2 o'clock from the family residence, resi-dence, 73 East Woolman street. Services Serv-ices at St. Mary's Catholic church were conducted by Rev. Father English. Eng-lish. The interment took place in Mt. Moriahc. cemertery. Frank M. Sullivan, editor of the Montana Mon-tana Catholic, went to Seattle last Wednesday to spend the holidays with his mother and sister. Dr. Sullivan left for the same place Saturday morning. - The Misses Ehret of Anaconda were the guests of the Misses Xissler last week. . . -- Mr. and Mrs. J. E. McCormiek of Hunter's Hot Springs were among the visitors here .ast week. Mrs. O'Briei, who was called here by the serious -Uness of her son's wife, Mrs. J. T. MISSOULA, MONT. John McCormiek, tthe well known citizen of Missoula county, who recently re-cently disposed of his ranch property near Bonner to United States Senator W. A. Clark, departed last Friday on an extensive eastern visit, which will I include many points of interest. He went to Helena, where he was joined by Mrs. McCormiek. who has been visiting there for two weeks past. The couple then left for the east, going" direct di-rect to Mr. McCormiek's old home in Canada, which he has not visited for nearly forty years. Here they will remain re-main some weeks, later coming back to the United States and visiting friends and relatives in the eastern states. They will not likely return to Montana before next summer. --4 Frank O'Hara. of Portland, passed through Missoula last Friday on his way to Hamilton, where he went to spend the holidays with his brother, Robert O'Hara. the well known attorney at-torney of Ravalli county. I The funeral of Mns. William Oarlev. who died last Saturday, was held from the Catholic church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Father Palladino. A large number of friends of the family were present at the services. Interment Inter-ment took place in the Catholic cemetery. ceme-tery. The deceased is survived bv a husband and two sons, aged S and 5 years. ANACONDA, MONT. Jacquemin was laid to rest in the Catholic Cath-olic cemetery Monday morning, when a large number, of sorrowing friends gathered to pay the last tribute of respect re-spect to one whom they highly esteemed in life. The funeral services were held at the Cathedral of the Sacred Hearts at 9 o'clock. Rev. Father Victor Dav celebrated cele-brated requiem high mass, while the cathedral choir, with Mrs. F. S. Ashall at the organ, rendered Gregorian chants most impressively. There were many beautiful floral offerings. At the cemetery the commitment service serv-ice was said by Rev. Academy Presented a Pleasing Programme. (Special Correspondence.) Cheyenne, Dec. 23. The reports of the pupils for the month of Xovember were distributed on Dec. 13 and 14. The juniors on Tuesday afternoon showed a marked improvement in application and repetition of lessons. The reading of the reports was relieved by the following fol-lowing little programme: Musical examinations: Piano: Margaret Walsh and Mary Ellis. Violin: Muriel Guy. All played very well and the last two shoAved good practice, since their former appearances. Recitations: baint Santa Claus," Twelve little gjrls of the first and second grades. W. .Hammond, an old resident of Cheyenne, died at St. John's hospital, hospi-tal, after undergoing an operation for cancer. Besides a husband, she leaves two sons and two daughters one daughter, Mrs. Dorian, residing- in Xew I Jersey, and t'.ie others living here. She was interred ,'n Lakeview cemetery Tuesday morning. f- Wylie Tupier died at his home Christmas eve from tuberculosis of the throat. He has been ailing for some time, but .lis death was unexpected. Besides a widow, he leaves a father, mother, three sisters and one brother. He was only recently married and much sympathy ia expressed for his widow. The weather reached its maximum Christmas lay. Tt was the coldest it has been in years, although no snow fell. f The young ladies of the O. F. G. gave a delightful ".eap year dance Thursday night of last w eek.
