Show BUTTE, MONT. Miss Marie G. Haggerty returned last Saturday from a pleasant outing spent at Hamilton. Mrs. E. McGuire of 116 West Silver street is entertaining her brother, W. B. McRoberts, of Lincoln, Neb. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Ryan and W. D. Thornton arrived in New York on Thursday from a trip abroad, having sailed last May fr Paris. Miss Annie Flaherty of Missoula was a Butte guest last week. Mrs. Thomas Loughrin and son are visiting in Philipsburg, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Anderson. A well appointed luncheon with red color tones prevailing was given by Miss Anne Fitzpatrick on Thursday at the home of her aunt, Mrs. J. H. Lynch, in West Park street. tviiss Margaret Driscoll very pleasantly pleasant-ly entertained on Tuesday afternoon of last week at a Kensington tea, the quests bringing their fancy work. A iullv afternoon was passed. At 5 I o'clock tea was served informally, and trtohe who enjoyed the hospitality of the hostess were: Mrs. Alex Schloesser, the Misses Nell and Kit Fair. Helen liaft, Ethel Berry, Jessie Homes and Anna Fitzpatrick. Mrs. Martha Sheehan. aged 35 years, died Sunday after an illness of a few days. She was a native of Nevada, but had resided In Butte for twenty-five twenty-five years, where the Nevin family is one of the most prominent among the pioneers. Her father was killed in the Wakeup Jim mine twenty-two years ago. She leaves three sisters, Mrs. P. S. Sullivan of the Southern hotel; Mrs. Conistock and Mrs. J. Donnelly, and three brothers, Charles P. Nevin, George Nevin and Will Nevin. The funeral fu-neral will take place tomorrow morning at 9:30 o'clock from the Nevin house, 312 East Sumit street. Mrs. Sheehan had hundreds of friends in Butte who deeply regret her death. Daniel J. Sheehan, 59 years of age, died yesterday morning at his home, 203 West' Porphyry street. He was a native na-tive of New York, but had been a resi dent of Butte for twenty-seven years. He was a carpenter by trade, and said to be one of the best mechanics in the city. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock from the family residence, proceeding to St. Patrick's church, where high mass will be celebrated. cele-brated. Mr. Sheehan leaves a wife, three daughters Mary, Elizabeth and Margaret and a son, John. He is survived sur-vived also by his mother, Mrs. Catherine Cath-erine Shehan, living at East Florence, N. Y., and by four brothers Patrick and Thomas Sheehan, residing in Butte; Michael Sheehan of Havre and John Sheehan. living at Custer City, S. D. The surviving sisters are Mrs. W. H. Cummings of Utica, N. Y. |
