Show ! I BUTTE. MONT. ! I l ! Frances Harriet Powell, the 5-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Powell, died Sunday night at the family fam-ily residence, 933 Jowa avenue. . The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the family residence, proceeding to St. Joseph's church, where services were held. The funeral of the late Henry J. Evans, who died Friday, was held on Monday morning from the family residence, resi-dence, 625 South Wyoming street, proceeding pro-ceeding to St. Joseph's church, where mass was celebrated. John Wililam Ayers. aged 54 years, died at the home of his mother. Mrs. Bridget Ayers of 337 East Park street, Sunday, of pneumonia. Mr. Ayres was stricken with the disease last week. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother, Edward, and two sisters. Mrs. John L. Thompson and Miss Sadie Ayers. all of Butte. He was born in Newark. N. J., and had resided in Butte for the past twenty-five years, being engaged in mining since he attained his majority. The funeral was held Tuesday Tues-day morning from the family residence, proceeding to Sacred Heart church, where mass was celebrated. Interment was made in the Catholic cemetery. Sheriff John K. O'Rourke has been notified of his election as vice president of the Intermountain Association of Sheriffs. The net meeting of the association asso-ciation will be held in Salt Lake in May, 1910. Mrs. John Gille, accompanied by her daughter, Miss Jeanette Gillie, left on Thursday of last week for Fort Douglas, Doug-las, Salt Lake, where they will be the guests for a fortnight of Lieutenant and Mrs. Edwin Butcher. Ed Shannon, who arrived in the city last Monday to attend the Whitty-Shannon Whitty-Shannon nuptials, has returned to his home in Atlantic City, la. Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Davidson of Po-catello, Po-catello, Ida., are visiting at the home, i of Mrs. Davidson's parents. Mr. and Mrs. O'Connor of Colorado street. Miss Margaret Shannon and her brother, Edward Shannon of Tdaho Falls, spent a few days in Butte last week and attended the wedding of their brother, Hal Shannon Surrounded with spring flowers and standing before an embankment of tall palms and tropical trees. Miss Marguer- j ite Whitty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. j J. Whitty, and sister of Mrs. Bernard Noon, became the bride of Hal Shannon Shan-non of Atlantic City. Father Fa-ther Barry officiating. j Social interest has been centered for j several weeks on the marriage of Miss Julia Horgan and Howard Melntyre, which was an event of Wednesday i evening at 6:30 at the home of the bride in West Broadway. While it was quietly quiet-ly solemnized, it was nevertheless an ! affair of unusual . social importance, j owing to the popularity of both the i bride and groom, and the pretty rooms were filled with close friends and immediate imme-diate relatives. Rev. Father De Siere of St. Patrick's church read the lines that united them for life, the ceremony being impressive and beautiful. Preceding Pre-ceding the same, Edwin Rowdon, the well known baritone, accompanied by Miss Ethel Terry, pianist, sang two or more selections in his usual magnificent voice, when the bridal chorus from Lohengrin announced the entrance .of j the wedding. party, and Father De Siere took his place in front of the white prie dieu, which was backed by a forest of palms, and was Joined by the groom and his best man, Creighton Largey. Butte Miner. Dennis Tyrell. aged 47 years, died at his home, 705 West Park street, Wednesday Wed-nesday morning. He is survi-ed by his wife, a daughter, Nellie; a brother, Eugene, and two sisters, Mrs. Jerry Harrington and Mrs. Samuel King. Not realizing her brother's serious condition, condi-tion, the latter left Wednesday for Canada, where she will make her home. Mr. Tyrell was a native of Ireland and worked in the various mines of Butte for twelve years. He was a member of the Americans. The funeral was' held Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock from the family residence, proceeding to Sacred Sa-cred Heart church, where mass was eel- ' ebrated. . , |
