Show j 0bi(ary. Rourke. On Saturday. Jan. 30. Charles Patrick Rourke died at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Angus McKellar, aged -9 years. This brief notice caused sorrow in the hearts of. all who knew and loved Charles Rourke. The deceased was born in St. Louis and came to Salt Lake when 10 vears old. . He attended All I Hallows college for many years, where he was very popular with teachers and schoolmates. Recently his health began to fail. The devoted mother and relatives made every ev-ery effort to save his life, but devotion, devo-tion, tender care and the bes?t medical i skill proved unavailing. Last Saturday he passed into eternal rest fortified with the sacraments of the holy church. He was a young man of most lovable character, manly in heart and mind, ever thoughtful and considerate consid-erate for others. The sweetness of his nature was proven in his final illness when his patience pa-tience and resignation to God's will was? mos?t edifying. To the bereaved mother particularly is extended the sympathy of all. It is consoling to her truly Christian tender mother-heart to know that her loved one is safe forever in God's hands, away from all suffering where there are no partings and no tears. The funeral occurred from St. Mary's? cathedral on Monday morning. Requiem high mass was1 celebrated by Rev. Father Fa-ther Kiely, who also prc-ached the funeral sermon ' Calder. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Calder were deeply shocked and grieved to hear of the death of their s?on. Joseph, who was fatally injured while coasting last Saturday. The loss of their lovable boy is a terrible blow to the bereaved parents, who have the pympathy of all in their affliction. He was winning, so tender in his own boyish fashion, and so alto- J gether manly and bright-minded that! his death is heart-breaking. May God i comfort the bereaved ones?! |
