Show PUEBLO, COLO. A smoker was given by the Ancient Order of Hibernians at St. Patrick's hall Thursday evening, Feb. 2. The A. O. H. is one of the strongest ' Catholic orders in America, and has for its objects the cultivation of religious, reli-gious, intellectual and social phases among its members. It brings the , Irishman in America in closer touch with his own nationality and teaches him of the place of the Irish in the history and progress of the United States. The -organization is planning to form , a company of knights, and after select- t ing a suitable uniform to become a well drilled body. This plan is meeting meet-ing with the approval of the Irish-American Irish-American people of Pueblo. The order has already commenced making preparation prep-aration for its annual ball on March 17. Gaily decorated with the flags ot the Slavonian confederacy and of the United Unit-ed States, the homes of the peoples of the Balkans, the Servians, Montene- j grins, the Bosnians and the Bulgarians, residents of Bessemer did honor to the patron saint of tho Slovocs, St. Sava, yesterday. At the Dragash hall high mass was celebrated by Father Vladimer of the Greek orthodox church, and In the homes of the people during the day there was feasting and menymaking. the proverbial pig roasted at open fires being a prominent feature. |
