One of the largest affairs in which v'atholie. society has participated for i some time was the annual ball of the Catholic Knights of America, which look place in St. Flizabelh's hall last Thursday evening. About 100 couples j look part in the grand march, which! followed a. musical and literary programme pro-gramme of muih interest. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served in the .supper room from daintily decorated tables. To those who did not ea.ro to dance, cards were provided and an interesting same, played, for which pretty prizes v. ere awarded. The society is rapidly growing; in favor with the Catholic i g. ntlemen of Denver, r.nd the mem- hirship is steadily increasing. Once every year, immediately after New I 1 Year's, the entertainment is given, but I this year's effort -was voted the most I successful that has ever been held. I Prom a social and financial standpoint I the affair was a complete success. Mr. I Joseph C Hagus, as president of the I Catholic Knights, was in charge of the f arrangement committee, ami assisting I him in looking', after the guests -were I Messrs. P. J. Sullivan, J. Kgan and J John Griebling. Xiui's Silver Anniversary. Sister Mary Xorberta of the Order i cf St. Francis at St. Anthony's hospital celebrated her silver anniversary last v.-eck. The occasion was one of impor- tanee. Sister Norbertha being the only Jiun of that order in Denver to enjoy Thfit distinction. Sister Norbertha lias been in Denver for nineteen years, ten of which she spent as nurse at the old Union Pacific hospital, and the balance she has "worked .'t St. Anthony's.
