The stout man shook his gray head. "I can't stultify myself enough to do that." he said. "Of course, it's the customary thing," suggested the other man. "We can't get out of it." "The hostess wouldn't believe me," said the stout man. j - "I guess she doesn't believe any of us," chuckled the other man. Again the stout, man shook his gray head. , "It, is a little different with mo," he sighed. "I'm her husband." And the crowd moved on. |
