Dr. Killen said the deceased came to his death from fracture of the skull, and the jury found accordingly, adding that the injury was caused through the accidental acci-dental falling: of a staging, On Thursday, before the lord chief justice and a special jury, the libel action ac-tion of Ogle vst Sheehy, M. P., and the "Drogheda Independent," was settled on the terms that the price to be paid by Thomas Morgan for the twelve and a half acres in dispute, to the plaintiff, should be fixed by John Watson: that if the money should not be paid -within twelve months all claims on the part of Morgan should be at an end. and that the plaintiff should facilitate Morgan in any application to the estates commissioners, commis-sioners, provided Morgan was not allowed al-lowed into possession before payment or any jurisdiction sivon to the lahd commission in the matter. A- On Friday the condition of affairs in connection with the Tottenham estate, situated in the county of Leitrim. came before Justice Ross in the land judge's court. The estate has been in court since 1883, When the petition for sale was presented. An offer of purchase by the estates commissioners is suspended sus-pended because the commissioners have no money available. It was suggested that the estate should be taken out of court, but Justice Ross said that would not be fair to tenants who were anxious to purchase. His lordship made orders respecting tenants who had, and who had not. complied with an order to pay half a year's rent, and also ordered that until money should be available to enable en-able them to buy the tenants should ray interest at 3 per cent on the estimated-purchase price. . , |
