Show ST. PATRICK'S EVE CONCERT. Outline of the Programme Bespeaks a Large Attendance. Readers of the Intermountain Catholic Catho-lic are already aware of the grand benefit ben-efit concert that will be given in the Salt Lake theatre on Sunday evening, March 16. The programme will begin promptly at S:15. The entertainment will be given by 100 children, who will be assisted by Mrs. Robert Tiernan of New York, contralto: Miss Edna Egan, harpist; H. S. Goddard. baritone; the Elite trio, consisting of Professor Skel-ton, Skel-ton, violinist; Professor Schettler, guitar gui-tar virtuoso; C. M. Serace, mandolinist. An interesting performance of thirty minutes will be given by amateur pupils of Professor Landrum's. They are in truth young artists whose precocity and talent will delight the audience. It is anticipated that the entire programme pro-gramme will give much pleasure. Mrs. Tiernan, the contralto, has not been heard many times, being a recent arrival ar-rival in Salt Lake, but her voice will surely win all hearts on Sunday night. She was for some years contralto soloist so-loist in New York's most prominent churches. The numbers on the programme are mostly Moore's melodies. One particularly particu-larly excellent number being a harp solo by Miss Edna Egan. accompanied ' on piano by Miss Dora Daly. Mies Egan is an artistic young performer on that very difficult instrument. Both young ladies are pupils of St. Mary's academy. This fact alone is sufficient recommendation of their work. ' The magnificent baritone voice of Mr. H. S. Goddard will be heard in severai I numbers. The programme for St. Fat- rick's concert would be incomplete without him. The talent of the St. Mary's children is already well known to the Catholics of this city. They will present many artistic drills and sing several pretty songs in their own simple sim-ple but taking manner. It is hoped that the house will be well filled. Prices of admission vary for different parts of the house. The programme and the entire management of the stage is in charge of Miss Nora Gleason. The use of the Theatre has been kindly .tendered by the directors, through the genial manager, Mr. G. D. Pyper. |
