Show ST. MARY' SACADEMY NOTES. Easter post cards covered a multitude of letters. The bulletins for March were sent out last week, and thus there were Imany welcome Easter gifts for expectant expect-ant parents who read love and gratitude grati-tude in the efforts evinced in the averages aver-ages reached. Many exquisite floral offerings, mingled min-gled with the splendor of starry tapers, spoke of the faith, love and generosity of St Mary's loyal friends on Easter Sunday. The students of the commercial classes of St. Mary's on Wednesday gave an exceptionally clever and original orig-inal program, which is indicative of the fact that the spirit of commercialism, and the literary arts may be fostered simultaneously and with the best results. re-sults. The program consisted of compositions com-positions in prose and verse, and each number was well received, evoking much favorable comment among the audience on the depth of thought and striking originality displayed. The Misses A. Young and M. Dobbs opened the entertainment w ith a catchy instrumental instru-mental duet entitled, "La Chasse aux Gazelles," by Calvin. Miss Ellen Brody was In very fine voice in her rendition of the popular song, "Roses Bring Dreams of You." Miss Pearl Hum- jphrey was the accompaniment. The entertainment reflected credit on the youthful aspirants to literary distinction. |
