Show Wedding Bells. The very prettiest wedding ever solemnized sol-emnized within the walls of any Catholic Catho-lic Church in Denver, occurred on Thursday evening. February 7. when Miss Gertrude Hanford became the bride of Edward Joseph Weckbach, of Denver. The. ceremony took place -at St. Elizabeth's church, where Rev. Father Pius. O. F. M.. officiated. Miss Hanford is the daughter of Mrs. Ella Hanford, of 1062 Pearl street. Never has St. Elizabeth's looked prettier. pret-tier. Its handsome interior was made even more beautiful by a color scheme of green and white and dozens of candles can-dles lent radiance to the sanctuary. The choir under the direction of Miss Josephine Woeber. with Miss Clara Woeber at the organ, sang several selections, se-lections, in fact the mi sic was one of the really delightful features of the ceremony. cer-emony. Shortly after 7:30 o'clock. Miss Hanford, looking more beautiful than usual in a gown of white embroidered chiffon, trimmed with quantities of real lace, walked up the aisle on the arm of her brother-in-law, W. R. McFar-land, McFar-land, who gave her away. Her sister, Mrs. McFarland, in a dainty, fluffy gown of yellow, was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Matilda Weckbach. of Lincoln. Nebraska, Miss Maud Ryan. Miss Cora McCabe and Miss May Mullen. They were all gowned in white and wore aigrettes of yellow in their hair. Each one carried a dainty basket of jonquils. Four tiny misses walked with the bridal party, wearing smilax in their hair and carrying car-rying marquerites. They were Ruth McFarlane. Josephine Lynch, Florence Lincoln and Morganetta Williams. Elma Jane Lebby. a pretty black-eyed, black-haired little girl, carried the ring in a lily. ( Tru" witr(- were Charles . FennAssy, Frank Tettemer. Edrd Butler. Albert Raerressen and Geftrge Hanford, brother of the bride. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's sister, 375 Lafayette street. The color scheme of yellow and wite was carried out in the house decoratiors. and refreshments refresh-ments were served by Miss Julia Merryweather and Miss Angela Gil-more. Gil-more. Mr. and Mrs. Weckbach left after the ceremony for Cuba and Florida, where they wiil enjoy an extended honeymoon. |
