Show AN EVENING WITH LONGFELLOW. LONGFEL-LOW. The seniors entertained last Tuesday evening in honor of America's fireside poet Longfel'ow. The following artistic ar-tistic and varied programme was rendered ren-dered : Instrumental solo, "Has Sorrow Thy j Young Days Shaded?" (Pape) Miss A. The fireside spirit of Longfellow pervaded per-vaded all. The delicate tints of the decorations, the well-rounded periods of the Journal, the grace of the pantomime pan-tomime and dramatic poses and the I melody of the music, both vocal and I instrumental, made a pleasing impres-j impres-j sion. "Such things have power to quiet Th? restless pulse of care. And come like the benediction That follows afler prayer." Those evenings wiuh the poets given by the pupils of St. Mary's are very enjoyable en-joyable and interesting events. One always comes away imbued with the feeling that there is something good and true in life after all. Tuesday evening's rendition was creditable in every respect. No doubt I many of the audience hope that there are more poetical anniversaries in the I near future. Among .ose present were j Rev. Fathers Kiely and Keenan from the Cathedral, Rev.
