But so many of my friends, Democrats as well as Republicans, Re-publicans, believed that my experience expe-rience in the senate would be of value in the present emergency that I decided that it was my duty to offer my services again to the people of the state. "It is my purpose to contribute what r can toward decisions affecting af-fecting national policy and to look out for the interests of Idaho citizens citi-zens at Washington. From the standpoint of our country I am concerned chiefly in two things, the winning of the war and the preservation of the American way of life after the war is over." C After announcing an-nouncing his candidacy for renom-ination renom-ination during a recent brief business busi-ness trip to Idaho, Senator John Thomas has returned to his duties in Washington and will remain continuously at his post during the primaries. A member of several V Important committees Senator Thomas is participating actively in the war program. He holds that this is no time for partisanship and that members of both parties should 'contribute so far as possible possi-ble to united action. Senator Thomas is a member of the Senate committee on Military Affairs, before which ia pending numerous measures relating to war policy. He also Is a member of the committee on banking and currency, which handles matters relating to price control and to t war iredit8, of the special commit- tee on silver, which has been considering con-sidering utilization of silver stocks in war industry, and also of the committees on irrigation and reclamation rec-lamation and post offices and post |
