Show I Editors Revel In Mountain Fastness Members of the Utah State Press association got their first view of some of Southern Utah's gorgeous scenery, had a fine time, caught fish and filled up on the savory viands to be found only in "camp life" and served by epicurians that "know their business" at the annual summer outing out-ing held at the Ferron reservoir last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Going from the heated valleys, where the thermometers ranged all the way from 90 degress Fahrenheit and up, to j an elevation of more than lO.OOOi feet i rejuvenated the pencil-pushing, over-I over-I worked newspaper men, and the ef-I ef-I fects were telling. Whether it was j from a release from the desk or whe-i whe-i ther it was from the high altitude, the ' gang made merry, insofar as possible. Living in tents at night and enjoying ! the splendid food gave all the boys ! and girls a rare treat. I The only obstacle to mar the com-j com-j plete pleasure of the outing were the high banks of snow, which were encountered en-countered along the skyline highway and around the camp. But. the contrast between the burning valleys and the cool nights and rarefied air gave vigor and comfort to the large group ga-I ga-I thered for the event. Brief business session, fishing, boatirig, visiting, all combined to make the outing a huge success. |
