Show B. and P. W. Club Molds "Mobo" Party The opening social of the Business and Professional Women's club, held at the City park Thursday evening of last week, proved a real "bear cat" of a time, and the seventeen members, as well as many of the populace of Gunnison, got a "kick" out of the show. Members had decided that the opening of the winters meetings should be carried out in a "hobo" plan, and this, like other events, proved a huge success. All members were dressed as "Weary Willies," and while the acts were not correctly correct-ly depicted as the conventional "Willie," "Wil-lie," the stunts were put over cleverly. clever-ly. Tattered and ragged overalls, dresses and such other garments worn, gave the club members a credit and it was "all in fun." Miss Elva Foote won first prize for being the best dressed "hobo." During the evening a clever pro- gram was given and consisted of readings, vocal numbers, and each of the seventeen present gave an impromptu im-promptu talk. At the conclusion of the program roasted marshmallows, hot chocolate and appetizing sandwiches sand-wiches were served. President of the club, Mrs. W. G. Roylance, stated that at the next meeting plans would be made to prepare pre-pare an activity program, which would be put over during the winter and spring months. |
