Show Telluride "Gang" Holds Fail Frolic The semi-annual "frolic," a notable event put on twice a year by the officers, of-ficers, managers and employees of the Telluride Power company) is fast gaining in popularity and is proving one of the cleverest get-together events held in the entire state. An inviting spot is selected for the meetings, meet-ings, one being held in early summer and another early in the fall. The "gangs" bully good boys and girls from Richfield, Salina, Gunnison, Delta, Fillmore, Beaver, Marysvale and Panguitch, comprising managers, office assistants and linemen, throw "shop talk" to the four winds and enter for a big time. It was the good fortune of the editor edi-tor and his wife to be invited to the affair, held in Beaver canyon last Sunday, and to mingle with the real "lighters" was a pleasure long to he remembered. The trip carried the pic- The autumn leaves all colors and all hues covered the mountains, and nature's paintings were never so pretty. The meeting was held at the company's com-pany's power plant, far up Beaver canyon, amid the lofty cliffs and surrounded sur-rounded by numberless "painted" trees, a spectacle that would enthrall the universe. On the spacious lawn an appetizing appetiz-ing lunch was served, the good ladies, of course, providing a bounteous supply sup-ply of delicacies that would please a king. This over, the time was devoted devot-ed to games, talks and contests. More than an hour was devoted to this feature, fea-ture, with general superintendent for the Telluride Power company, L. R. Fournier, acting as master of ceremonies. cere-monies. Prizes were awarded to the winners. Clift McShane, in charge of the main station of the company, at the head of Beaver canyon, gave a warm welcome to the employees and their guests, and told the crowd to "cut loose" and enjoy themselves to the limit. Each manager from the various offices of-fices maintained by the company in the district, gave short talks or was represented by a story, reading, dancing or a song, and throughout the amusement afforded and the good time enjoyed marked the fall outing j as one of the best ever held. Those attend'ng from Gunnison were Manager Norman Johnson, Mrs. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Alphus Pierce, Mrs. Ellen H. Kearns and Miss Imel-da Imel-da Peterson. |
