Show Program Complete For Big State Show Next Saturday, in Salt Lake, the gaies win open ior me iiity-uiiru session of the Utah State Fair an exposition, it is promised by the management, man-agement, that will be superior in many departments to any fair that has preceded it. Counties of the state have been prompt and generous in their reservations reserva-tions for space in the agricultural and horticultural departments, and artisans are busy at the grounds arranging ar-ranging the exhibits. Particular interest inter-est has been manifested throughout Utah in the exhibits to be made by the 4-H clubs, the Future Farmers of America, and school departments of agricultural and mechanical arts. The state fair has come to be, increasingly, in-creasingly, a demonstration of the part the rising generation plays in the future of the commonwealth. The livestock department will eclipse, by a considerable margin, exhibits ex-hibits of the past. In the first place, the Utah exposition, has been desig- i i ; 1 t naLfcju as Lilt; western xegiunai snow of the American Jersey Cattle club, a national organization. This has attracted at-tracted entries of some of the best known herds of Jerseys on the Pacific Pac-ific coast, as well as Utah and Idaho. Other dairy breeds will also be represented rep-resented from distant points Hol-steins Hol-steins from California, the Dakotas and Kansas, and Ayrshires from Wisconsin Wis-consin and the coast. Swine, too, will be present in notable not-able exhibits from as far away as Texas and Missouri. Sheep from the unexcelled flocks of Utah and Idaho will have to compete with prize contenders con-tenders from other states. Ernest S. Holmes, manager, predicts that the livestock exhibits will overflow the large, modern exhibit spaces. A feature of interest to followers follow-ers of the livestock competition will be the daily judging in the new arena in the coliseum, remodeled this year into a large space for indoor judging, protected agajnst unfavorable weather. wea-ther. Rabbits, poultry and other small stock will again be featured by large exhibits. Fanciers of pet animals will have a real treat in the dog show and the daily whippet races. One of the biggest features of the fair this year will be the program of entertainment. The headliner, of course, will be the celebrated "Captain "Cap-tain Dobbsie" of radio fame, with h"s crew of entertainers. While the "Cap-continued "Cap-continued on last page) - -- Mill I Program Complete For Big State Show (Continued from page 1) tain" will stage his regular daily broadcast every morning from KSL, he will appear in public only at the fair grounds afternoons and nights, Monday to Friday.
